No it isn't.
No it's not sadly
There is a sitting bar at the sushi station so you can watch, but it's not a feature of the restaurant, really.
I know they have soft shell crab, as for the rest I haven't looked at the menu for a while but sushi cove is my favourite place to go. They've ruined sushi everywhere else for me because theirs is so good!
Maybe
Very cheap, you only eat rice! Had to wait long for the service
Really good sushi in my opinion. This is truly a hidden gem in Woodstock and definitely worth a try. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the higher end rolls. Personally I tried the Mountain roll and Rainbow roll and they were very good.
If zero stars was an option, that’s what I would be giving. Just left this place. My last bite was a shrimp skewer... as I bit into it I spit it out as it taste like a strong chemical. We told the waitress and she tried to tell me it was a sauce they used... no it was definitely spoiled shrimp. Google spoiled shrimp; “ammonia and/or bleach taste/smell indicates the growth of bacteria that leads to food poisoning”. Fantastic.
Amazing sushi! I eat here regularly and it's one of the best places in SW Ontario based on my experience as a roaming sushi lover. :)
Best sushi in town! Their take out prices are a little high for what you get but the eat in, all you can eat, is delicious. If you want to order a second + round, you have to get a menu sheet from the side of the sushi making counter; I've never had it brought to me.
My favourite sushi place in Woodstock. They offer all you can eat. The service is always good. The food is always good. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Best chicken balls on the planet
Good food and friendly attentive people
Great food at a great price. Atmosphere and staff are not offensive but need consideration
Good food Not cheapGreat sashimi
I enjoy most of what they make here
I am picky. The only place I will go for sushi! My friends and I dine here regularly. The kamakaze roll is my favorite. Great lunch specials and friendly staff
Overall great food, no complaints, all you can eat is the way to go
Omg! You have to try this place. Choice of all you can eat or individual plates. The General Tao is amazing. I'm going back. Pricing is perfect!
Excellent.
Yummy sushi and good service.
Great little place to eat. The food quality and service was very good. A bit slower but they are so nice and presentation was awesome. When we came there was just one person working and as I mentioned it took a little longer then most places but the food and how sweet the lady was made up for it. What I love is they don't over stuff their rolls with rice, everything tasted really good here. I will definitely be coming back.
We really enjoy getting our sushi at Yummy's. The owners are friendly and great at making you feel like family. Don't let storefront effect the great food and service you will experience.
Service was fabulous. They kept an eye on us to ensure the next course of food came out at just the right moment. Language barriers did exist, but we got past it, and were able to enjoy our meal (there were other staff that spoke English). Price is comparable to Chiba, and the food was excellent. My wife preferred Osaka to Chiba.
Customer service was good but the overall taste of the food could be improved. Overused vinegar in the rice which took away the flavour and the fish wasn’t fresh. The appetizers were delishes though and hot. I came for good sushi and was let down so won’t be returning.
Pretty good sushi for Woodstock, the freshness is not perfect but staff is extremely friendly and nice
Good food but a bit nit picky about charging $7 for a plate of fries for young kids that aren't partaking in the all you can eat. Seems a bit petty when you have a group. Other than that foods good and place is clean.
Dump
I tried the take out menu, so bear this in mind. It may be a different experience for AYCE options. Food was excellent, tasty and fresh, and beautifully plated to boot. Usually I avoid salmon sushi, but here it had me coming back for more. You can watch the chef prepare the sushi courses right beside you. Attentive service. Large range of different Asian foods including, but not limited to: sushi and sashimi; Don, Bibimbap (Korean), General Tao and more.
I've been coming here since the day it opened (used to live upstairs lol) - I've been many places and had great sushi, Osaka is excellent. 5.5 stars!
I ordered won ton soup for take out and after waiting 10 minutes for it when I was the only customer (not surprised) I got home to soup that had a rotten fish stench and the top was covered in white scum! Will never go back. Eat at own risk!
Gross! The whole experience took nearly two hours for only two orders. Rolls were made of far too much rice, and the overall quality was quite bad. I saw many ingredients come out the microwave. Now that I am home, I wish I had just heated up a can of soup for dinner instead. Sushi Cove is far superior in quality, experience, and price!
Nice friendly service and good food.
Food is ok.Service was good.Definitely not a 5* by any means... 3.5
Worst sushi I have had. Seaweed salad was warm and cream cheese in the rolls was bad. The server we had who was making our sushi was also cleaning the fish tank At the same time. Will not be coming back.
I haven't even ate anything from there yet, and I am already disappointed. I have been trying to call them for 45 minutes and their line is busy, don't tell me that you are spending 45 minutes with each customer. what kind of service is this? if you say you are open, put your phone back on the hook and let people get through.
Best sushi in town . You can order 2 rolls for lunch that includes delicious miso soup and a salad for under ten bucks !!
Such good food, great variety, excellent customer service!!
If there was a way to give them zero, I would. I ordered a wonton soup. Kind of had a funny taste, but I didnt think too much of it. Waited for my general Tao chicken. By the time the chicken arrived, I felt sick to my stomach. I attempted to eat the combo I ordered and the rice definitely had too much fishbone in it. The vegetables were also steamed and refroze. The only thing that was worth the money was the sauce on the general Tao chicken, but I couldn't eat it because of the wonton soup. The Male washroom also has no working urinal, and no toilet seat.
fruit flies in soy sauce!!!
I've tried them all and have to say this is the best sushi in town. If you live in woodstock support this great restuarant. Ive tried sushi in many cities and this still might be my favorite. Wife and I really like the basketball roll.
I ordered a wonton soup and an egg roll for take-out. Sadly I was very disappointed, egg roll was over cooked and it tasted like the ones you can buy in the grocery store to to mention that it was dripping with grease and the wonton soup was tasteless . If they can’t make a simple wonton soup right or an egg roll for that matter... Will Never Go Back.
I love this place!! I had been trying to find a good pad thai in Woodstock and already written off two other restaurants, and found only one acceptable; so still on the hunt I ordered from Yummy Asia. The Pad Thai is the best I have found in Woodstock! I have sampled many of their dishes off the evening all you can eat menu (on two seperate occasions with two different friends in the past week alone) and found everything to be fast & fresh (literally made fresh to order) and sooo delicious. The atmosphere is quiet & calm with soft relaxing lighting. Nice place for dinner as a couple or dinner with a friend you're looking to catch up with. The service is friendly, polite and unobtrusive. Plus the prices are better than fair for the quality, freshness and flavor!I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!I would say to try it! When you find it as good as I did...tell a friend or two 😊I'm already hooked - this is my new found 'go to' restaurant.
For the price, you're better off going to Chiba or Sushi Cove. A male waiter was particularly surly, and became annoyed that we sent back food that we didn't order. For the food we did order, they bring small portions, so you'll run out before you know it. Then it's good luck trying to get their attention to bring you more. They charge for a drink with your dinner, unlike Chiba. Variety is not as extensive as the competition. Atmosphere is poor. Won't be back.
Went for the all you can eat Lunch. Service was ok, some ingredients not fresh... (ex. brown avocado). They will gladly do some menu substitutions.
Good selection of sushi and related items. All you can eat available. Way too much rice on rolls and nigiri sushi. Clean, though back room seems to have been converted to a children's area / general usage.
Very poor service. We had to ask for all you can eat and server seemed put out by our request for it. No option for second round was offered; barely saw our server. Sushi was not fresh. We won't be going back.
Good place for sushi . Cute little girl that greats you. I ordered out once and while I waited she offered me a jello!
Very very poor customer service. There was an issue with their food, and they denied that anything was possibly even wrong, and refused to correct the problem, or even considering that there even might be a problem TO correct.Sign says "All You Can Eat" - in English, and in Canada, this means "Buffet." False advertising, as they completely misunderstood the All You Can Eat term, when it was included on their sign.Overall, very prideful people. Poor customer service, putting it nicely.I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes down. When competing with other restaurants, as an owner, one must make customer service, and food quality, a priority. When you fail to do this, then you plan to fail. Period
I am a real sushi lover. I have enjoyed sushi all over the world and am always in search of the very best places. I have been to Osaka a number of times and absolutely love it! They are easily one of the best Sushi places in SW Ontario. They offer all you can eat for lunch and dinner. Since the lunch menu does not offer sashimi, I always order the dinner menu, which they are always happy to switch (for a few extra dollars). They have the freshest ingredients, and offer terrific value for the relatively low price they charge. Their rolls are imaginative, and most are very large portions. It is wise to order light, because you can always reorder, and they are very quick with their service. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Since they are so good, they are often very busy, so if you can, come early! Enjoy!
